Smart Phone Applications are abundant but too often the phone isn't up to the task due to inadequate battery and vulnerbility to the elements. This group of products was originally designed for use with smart phones in tracking sail boat races so the design has been proven in the worst of conditions.

There are 3 parts:

• The water tight enclosure with foam padding.
• A power adapter that is essential for protecting the phones internal battery during extended use.
• A power cable that mates with a water tight receptacle that can be customized to meet the application.

Sail Boat GPS Tracking with an Android Phone

 

• Above are photos of an example from sail boat racing.
• The enclosure is snapped to the railing with Delrin clips and the cable is routed below deck to the power adapter.
• The version shown is wired for a standard USB power cable and used with an Android smart phone.

Configured for Kattack Race Tracking

• The photo above shows a complete kit as it would be used with a Kattack tracking phone. This allows the phone to be quickly snapped in place and powered on without need to worry about charging.
• The case is foam lined for physical protection and sealed at all points to keep moisture out. The phone is therefore completely safe.
• The case will float if it accidentally ends up in the water but take note that the power cable and lanyard provide backup protection against loss.

Power Adapter with 10 ft. Direct Connect Battery Cable

• The photo shows the power adapter with a 10 ft. cable for direct connection to a battery (12V or 24V).
• The black sealed object is the power adapter. It is available in iPhone or Standard USB configurations.
• Installation is by either the included foam tape or by screw through the center ferrule.
• The switch allows the adapter to be powered off when not in use. An LED indicates when it is on.
• An internal 1.5A self-resetting fuse protects against any problems. An external fuse is not required.
• The water tight connector allows for customized wiring. The cable shown is for direct connection to a marine battery.
